Fling is a barbershop quartet made up of members of the High Country Chorus. Together they
have 25 years of barbershop experience. If you count separate experience, Gail
has about 5 years but should get extra credit because her dad was a barber-shopper. Susie
has about 4 years experience, but she’s a musical savant so she should get some extra credit too. Jamie has been a barber-shopper
for almost 5 years but loses some experience points because she wanted to sing barbershop for about 25 years before
she got around to it. That leaves Linda and barbershop experience; we’re
letting her count about 8-9 years (mostly because we don’t know how many it really is).
Gail works in the plastics industry and didn't sing for many years after
high school (Which the rest of us say is a darn shame!). She is a barbershop brat and animal lover. She volunteers at the Colorado Humane Society and is a representative of the Lollipop Guild (115 local). Gail is the mother of three daughters…O.K. cats!
She’s an avid reader of HOT trashy romance novels which she shares with her Sweet Adeline sisters. Gail’s dream trip consists of a Mexican beach vacation in which she’s served frozen drinks
by a hot cabana boy. HEY, it could happen!
Jamie loves her work as a litigation paralegal
and is happy to be singing with her best friend (on whose coat tails she hopes to ride to a crown). Jamie is a happily single
mom, intuitive and Titanic fanatic (the ship not the movie). But wait, there’s more… She sang in the Colorado
Chorale and found barbershop after many years of not singing (thanks in part to getting married and divorced, having a child
and oh yeah, *sniff* the scars of friends Chris and Tony who told her repeatedly in High School that she couldn’t sing.) Jamie is the team leader (na na na na na na na na leader) of the High Country Chorus
(going into her fourth term).

Susie has a degree in music education K-12 and has performed with various
music groups in the Denver
area. She has worked at the same company for 22 years and wants desperately to retire to the desert soon. She has a daughter who recently got married (WOW—glad that’s over). Susie enjoys traveling
(I have taken some awesome trips with my daughter in the states), gambling, reading, and computer games.

Linda is a teacher and has a terrific tenor voice. She has been a swim coach,
so is very familiar with sun-rise. Linda is a mom and has a little doggie she loves. She is the newest addition to Fling and
the group is looking forward to competing with her. 2008 will be Linda’s first quartet competition.

All of Fling is inspired by quartets
and choruses who have the drive and desire to succeed and the willingness to put themselves “out there”. They
especially love A Cappella Gold and gain a lot of inspiration from their personality and wicked awesome singing.
